Dismembered Landscapes |

| One of the main reasons, if not the main one, leading to the "Anthropocene" era is the extensive commercialization of the natural resources, as it is happening through the absolutely unbalanced exploitation of nature, especially regarding the exploitation of the natural energy resources and the way they are subsequently consumed and recycled. Audiovisual material is projected on hanged thermal papers creating series of parallel vertical images that resemble a spatial bar-code and imply the conversion of the projected landscapes in consumption products. The audiovisual material consists of non-linear narratives recorded during wanderings in various landscapes, where the signs of industrialization and commercialization are quite visible, animated texts which consist of parts of statements on cases of destruction of natural resources and recorded communications concerning a possible disaster, and finally map collages of various industrialized areas. The audio of the installation consists of a synthesis of natural sounds (air and water), sounds of industrial sites and typing processes, creating allegorical readings of the visual material. | |
